Welcome to BNI Mississippi!
Now, more than ever, business people need to network to stay in business. BNI is the largest business networking organization in the world and provides a positive, supportive, and structured environment. We offer members the opportunity to share ideas, contacts and most importantly, business referrals.
BNI is a business and professional referral organization that allows only one person from each profession to join a chapter. Last year alone, BNI generated 6.6 million referrals resulting in 8.5 billion dollars worth of business for its members!
Belonging to BNI is like having dozens of sales people working for you because all the other members carry several copies of your business cards around with them. When they meet someone who could use your products or services they hand your card out and recommend your services. It's as simple as that!

Getting Ready For Change
Most of us are probably anxious for that first cool front, a little change from the late summer southern heat. It may be a few weeks yet, but you will see a change in your own chapters soon. New Leadership Teams are being trained in the next four weeks. A change in leadership, like a change in the weather, can be refreshing. It's a chance to start fresh and renew. As your new leadership takes its place, make sure to welcome them and use this new start for your own inspiration. Find a way to get more involved in your chapter: set up One-to-ones, volunteer, and bring visitors. These kinds of efforts can be contagious and go a long way to inspiring the whole group. Don't just cheer from the sidelines...
get out there and play!

Baton Rouge and Lafayette Chapters
This month's Spotlight Chapter is actually a couple of regions. The Baton Rouge and Lafayette regions were overwhelmed by the recent flooding, and although not every member lost a house or business space, many did and many more have been affected. The spotlight this month is on the chapters of those regions and the success the chapters in those regions have generated. In the past year, the Baton Rouge and Lafayette regions have collectively passed nearly 13,000 referrals, hosted almost 3,000 visitors, conducted about 15,000 One-to-ones, and reported over $18 million in closed business.
Our thoughts are with the people who have been impacted in a variety of ways, and as we continue to help clean up and rebuild, we also remind our community of the strength in those regions. They have created success and will return to continue or even surpass that success.
